Yes they can, and it happens every day! There is no law against making duplicated copies of these types of keys. It’s like a “Keep Off The Grass” sign, both announce the owners desire, but ether are enforceable. The good news is there are several key systems available that make it next to impossible to have a key duplicated without the owners’ knowledge. Can you rekey all my locks to one key?
Yes, IF all your locks come from the same manufacturer, have the same keyway and can be disassembled they can be keyed alike. Check the edge of the door where the latch is and you should see the manufacture name stamped in the latch. If they all come from the same manufacture chances are good they can all be rekeyed alike. As a side note, you can purchase padlocks with the same keyway as your house locks and they can be keyed to your house key.
